Honey Highway is an initiative to sow the national and provincial roads, railways and water dikes. With Honey Highway, a regional wildflower seed with 44 species, which maintain a natural balance along major transportation routes, provides a beautiful sight for every passer by, and lets a colourful border to main routes grow. Importantly, bees find sufficient food in these areas of high biodiversity. The starting point of this initiative was the Dutch A4 Honey Highway, which was realized in collaboration with Rijkswaterstaat, road builders and the municipality of Central Delfland. This will hopefully be followed up by the whole of the Netherlands. We have the knowledge for a lasting paradise for bees in the berms!
